                                  History

The natural and man-made calamities such as wars made women and children more abandoned in most countries in Africa. The effect of these man-made and natural problems forced the people to live in a vicious circle of poverty. Women and children especially orphans and widows in Southern Sudan are vulnerable to various calamities. This has become a particularity in Sudan and generality in Africa. The project will address major problems that affect the survival and development of women and their children.

                            Project Vision

Empowering Girls and Women through Practice of All Rights. With an objective to work with rural girls and women in establishing sustainable enterprises, Our commission is to ensure that Sudanese girls and  women become custodians and ambassadors of Sudan resources and heritage that which is vital in keeping  Sudan at peace and developed. We do this by encouraging girls and women and others that consider themselves as friends of Sudan having traveled to Africa as tourists, missionaries, businessmen or diplomats to play a significant role in rebuilding Sudan from the menace of war, poverty, HIV/Aids, illiteracy etc.

                          Project Mission

WPI will be committed and dedicated to Empowering Women through Practice and Training in leadership, education, and health, social, and human developments. WPI is prominent project established to create positive change for girls and women and their communities in selected countries in Africa include Malawi, Chad, Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, and Somalia. These projects are practical and rights-based projects directly address girls and women's needs in refugee camps, rural, urban villages and in the most world's poorest communities.

                        Project Description

The program is just a start up program and its impact on girls and women are far more beyond expectations. WPI is prominent program established to create positive change for girls and women to have positively involvement in their daily lives. The program services are practical and rights-based projects directly address girls and women's needs in refugee camps and in the most poverty striking and oppressing areas like Sudan, Chad, and Somalia. Since the program is new, it will first launch girls and women services in villages of Southern Sudan and later more advances to many places to support and advance the life choices and well being of girls and women and their families.

 

WPI will undertake program services in partnership with women and girls locally, nationally, and internationally. These projects are devised and managed by girls and women who live and work in the communities themselves, which fosters practical and innovative responses to the issues girls and women's view as most critical.The development that WPI promotes is the equitable growth of people and communities, and the just distribution of basic resources and respect for human rights. The projects will be focused on the following areas: livelihood and economic empowerment; freedom from violence; participation in leadership and decision-making, health problems and reproductive health and human rights; environment and natural resource management.

                              Activities and Goals

  • To improve the conditions of poor widows who are victims of social & economical crisis while providing them means to get involved in income generating activities.
  • To establish a sustainable economical and social basis for self subsistence in order to fully take responsibility for herself and her children.
  • To assist and provide financial support and bring about meaningful change in the widow's life.
  • To offer counseling and support services for those who have been traumatized & socially out cast. 
  • To prevent Widows from being exposed to potential delinquency and other social evils as well as return to a dependency in a economically based and often abusive marriage.
  • To regain sustaining self confidence and dignity.
  • Most of the activities of the project are designed to be participatory and to be performed at the grass root level.

                                Project Development

The first activity is finding resources for women in most profound need of our support in cooperation with Aid and Care, Inc's programs.The project will mainly support women who have suffered in term of lack of family supports. We will offer education, health, and financial support to transform their idea in to practical reality so that they may come out of the poverty cycle and prepare their kids become good characters and future leaders. The project allocates up to $20,000 for buying hand craft supplies , programs that promote their ability and leadership skills. Our aim encourages women to participate in the development process, who are beyond an "only receiving mentality" that causes a mental and economic dependency keeping people in a vicious poverty cycle. We trust that this project saves the life of women and will have a positive effect on the educational, leadership, economic and social development of the country as a whole. Women project initiative plans to achieve this by

  • Creating a networking platform for stakeholders and visionaries in Community development and women empowerment.
  • Promote handicrafts made by women in Africa for the sake of our sisters in Africa who struggle to provide for their households through exhibitions
  • Promote transfer of skills and resources from the developed world to the remotest villages of Africa and equitably spread resources amongst all people without bias.
  • Encourage volunteer programs for empowerment of skill and realize charitable objectives
  • Train and educate girls and women in Sudan with skills necessary for community development.

WPI will run both long term and short term programs in the various projects aimed at empowering children, girls, and women include

  • The Girls and  Women's Leadership Academy
  • The Traditional Industry- Hands made craft, sewing
  • Education: Teaching them writing, reading, and communication skills
  • Health Education: Sexual Transmitted diseases awareness, hygiene, sanitation etc
  • Human rights and social promotions
  • Livelihood and Economic empowerment
  • Freedom from violent

Community Education Programs themes include:

  • Organic Agriculture etc

                         Project Overview

WPI also will provide orphans, widows and their communities with a sustainable means of earning a living. This is an integrated program and has several sub-projects such as health and nutritional support, provision of water and sanitation facilities, home improvement and educational support and social activities.

                        Monitoring and evaluation

Report should be submitted quarterly, semi - annually and yearly to donors, foundations, churches, communities and government agencies through Aid and Care,Inc annual reports. The donors and any concerned body are also welcome to participate in the monitoring and evaluation. The beneficiaries will pay back by reversing what they learn through WPI programs to help other women via an appropriate and individually defined period. WPI services and activities will be guided and evaluate by  experienced agencies or individuals. There will be an exit interview with participants to evaluate what  they thing about the project. Record of their performances will be kept and evaluated by women project expertise. Total combination of evaluations will determine whether will continue or not. or has it satisfied participants needs or not..
